Wild Side
on Wednesday, May 23, 2012Let’s take a walk on the wild side; lions, tigers and bears, oh my! I’m talking about animal patterns and prints! Don’t be afraid. Incorporating a pop of pattern or texture in the form of animal prints and textiles gives you a little exotic edge. You’re not limited to leopard print, although it is a classic. Think about zebra, reptile, cheetah or ostrich. You can find these patterns in any type of material, including fabric prints, velvets, woven fabrics, carpets, wallpaper, upholstery, and more.
Take a look at some of these examples, using various animal skins or patterns. From using the pattern in rugs and carpets for a big splash, to just a few pillows here or there. Don’t overlook cowhide, shagreen (sharkskin), or fur. And, yes, you can get all of these “faux” which is less expensive, and obviously does not harm any animals.
