Jewelry for Your Cabinetry

Posted by urbanid on Saturday, June 9, 2012

We should all know by now that just because something is necessary doesn’t mean it has to be boring. Take for example, cabinet hardware. Without those pulls and knobs we would have a really hard time opening the cabinets to make our PB&J. With all of the options available these useful items can really make a big impression. Even better, changing the hardware in your bathroom or kitchen is a very inexpensive way to get a facelift. Dressing up an old piece of furniture with some new knobs is also an easy way to give it new life.

Besides various shapes, sizes, and finishes, you can also find very whimsical knobs. From animals, to tools to food and beyond. Think about how cute it would be to outfit a workbench with some knobs in the shape of tools, or your garden bench with spade knobs. Your pet’s special cabinet? Dog or cat shaped pulls! The possibilities are endless. There are many vintage options as well, including glass knobs and pulls, or latches (keep the critters out!). Even unexpected elements can be used as knobs, such as rope or reusing wine corks.

So give your cabinets some love, they deserve it.
